Natural Fear

Today’s Think On This podcast comes from our conversation at the table about natural fear.  There’s an atmosphere of fear all over the world. Fear is natural.  The thing is . . . navigating through our world of fear is not easy.

And . . . this is a big but . . . God is always present with peace beyond what can be imagined. We can find a way through fear when we accept God’s peace (shalom). The Hebrew word, shalom, is the root of peace meaning healing and wholeness. In other words, our well-being is dependent on peace.
The picture of peace being like a flowing river helps us to see the reality of God’s peace within us.  It can be used as a prayer picture to pray for ourselves and others:
“God . . . I pray for peace . . . to be flowing from You to each one of us around the world.”
LISTEN . . .

Fear, a natural response, can be managed through the supernatural peace of God.
Pray for peace . . . for yourself, family, friends, community, nation . . . and the world. “Pray For Peace” is a song written by Reba McEntire. The song is a great reminder of the power of prayer when we join together and pray for peace . . . the kind defined as healing and wholeness . . . for the whole world.

(From SongFacts: ‘Pray for Peace‘ is a song I wrote because I strongly believe in the power of prayer.” The idea for the song originally came to McEntire in 2013 as she was walking on her place in Gallatin, Tennessee. “For days I’d sing, ‘Pray for Peace,’ over and over,” she said.)

Hear me, Lord! Turn Your ear in my direction.
    Come quick! Save me!
Be my rock, my shelter,
my fortress of salvation!  (Psalm 31:2, Voice).
