THINK ON THIS  . . . Holy Week Thursday

Jesus: “It has been My deep desire to eat this Passover meal WITH YOU before My suffering begins. Know this: I will not eat another Passover meal until its meaning is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.”

He took a cup of wine and gave thanks for it.

Jesus: “Take this; share it among yourselves. Know this: I will not drink another sip of wine until the kingdom of God has arrived in fullness.”

Then He took bread, gave thanks, broke it, and shared it with them.

Jesus: “This is My body, My body given for you. Do this to remember Me.”

And similarly, after the meal had been eaten, He took the cup.

Jesus: “This cup, which is poured out for you, is the new covenant, made in My blood.”

(Luke 22:15- 20 (Voice).

“Now before the Feast of the Passover, Jesus knowing that HIS HOUR HAD COME that He would depart out of this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end” (John 13:1, NASB).

PERSPECTIVE . . . The Hour Has Come

These words mark the shift from “‘what was” to “what would be” through the incomprehensible and unstoppable power of God’s love . . and underlines the transforming power of what occurred on . . . Holy Week.
(Note:  Today’s Think On This podcast gives insight on communion.)

THE TABLE is life for one or many more. It’s where we define ourselves, develop relationships, and determine what matters.  THE TABLE is where Jesus said he had the deep desire to eat this Passover meal WITH YOU before My suffering beginsIt’s profound to think how Jesus deeply wanted to be with those he loved despite knowing the limited time before his suffering.

Rather than speaking to crowds or seeking out leaders . . . Jesus chose to sit at the table with his friends  . . . celebrating the passover in conversation about the gift of new life.

In other words, Jesus deemed the table to be the place of greatest influence.

The power of God-with-us making the choice to take a seat at the table shortly before taking the final path is never to be underestimated.  Clearly , the table is the key place for humanity to reserve time to be together with belief and hope of God’s more.  THE TABLE is life together.
