Vision: Focus

I know for certain:  God is life-giving.  God is not an oppressor.  God liberates our soul to experience the fullness of life.

Whoever and whatever is not life-giving is an oppressor.

Taking time to develop an inner awareness is key to understand where oppression has been allowed to reside within our life.

Note:  A soul-deep battle usually ensues when we decide to move out of oppression.

Listen . . .

Think On This . . .

We lose sight of the bigger picture when we focus on the small stuff of life.

As our vision of life narrows, we see limitations and impossibilities rather than possibilities.

We are oppressed by a circumstance when we believe it has the power to determine the outcome of our life.   It’s imperative to break free of this belief to experience the fullness of life.

The thing is . . .  breaking free of the oppressive decision to believe circumstances rule . . .  is  not easy.

Consider how the people of God were oppressed for centuries.  The story in Exodus is a revelation of the battle which ensues when the decision to break free from oppression is made.

The oppressors finally let the slaves go; however, they continued to believe the slaves belonged to them. It’s likely the slaves believed it too.
Anyway . . .

The oppressors went after them.

The people belonged to God, not to the oppressor.

Take note of this:  Circumstances do not own us. Circumstances can’t oppress us without our permission.

The battle between the oppressors and God in Exodus 14, verse 25 tells the story of how the oppressors’ power could not compare with the power of God:

He twisted their chariot wheels, making their chariots difficult to drive. “Let’s get out of here—away from these Israelites!” the Egyptians shouted. “The Lord is fighting for them against Egypt!” (Exodus 14:25, NLT)

The power of God overcomes the battle of oppression.

The thing is . . . our battle is won when we realize  we belong to God . . . not to whatever we are fighting against.

Focus on the life-giving power of God working in and through you.

Perspective . . .

I am confident that the Creator, who has begun such a great work among you, will not stop in mid-design but will keep perfecting you until the day Jesus the Anointed, our Liberating King, returns to redeem the world (Philippians 1:6 (Voice)).
