Vision: Recognize Stress

111

Over the course of my life, I’ve learned quiet and rest for the mind and soul is imperative.

The thing is . . . quiet and rest . . .  doesn’t just happen in our noisy and busy world.

It requires the intentional decision to make it a best practice.

It’s a best practice which produces calmness and confidence in the midst of the demands and pressures of living.

I often enter quietness and rest with words like the ones found  in Isaiah 43:1-4

” . . . When you’re in over your head, I’ll be there with you. When you’re in rough waters, you will not go down.  When you’re between a rock and a hard place,  it won’t be a dead end—Because I am God, your personal God . . . ”  (MSG).

These words strengthen me with truth:   God is present.  God will not fail.   God will not leave.  God is for us.   God is at work doing more than can be imagined.  God is God.

Stress . . . say the word . . .  and people feel it.

Stress has become a recognizable companion for most of us in this time and space of the world.

Stress impacts our . . . mind, body, and soul . . . relationships . . . home . . . and workplace.

Fear is often a root cause of stress; however,  fear is not always addressed in the quest of reducing stress.

Stress resides when we see the presence and work of God as a reality.  In fact, a calmness arises when the the power of God’s love

Consider these words from Romans 8:38: “So now I live with the confidence that there is nothing in the universe with the power to separate us from God’s love.”

Pause. Breathe.  Recognize where stress resides.

Determine the root cause and do the work of surrender, which requires time and effort.

Become aware of the reality of God’s presence and work.

Form soul-deep certainty of God’s covering of unstoppable love.

Perspective . . .

”  . . with all of Your people they will have the power to understand that the love of the Anointed is infinitely long, wide, high, and deep, surpassing everything anyone previously experienced. God, may Your fullness flood through their entire beings . . .” (Ephesians 3:18-19(Voice)).
